6115. Hoe, Backhoe, Backshovel, or Pull shovel : A power excavator deriving its name from a gardener`s hoe, because the digging action of the former resembles the latter in that the dipper is on an arm that is pulled toward the machine. It may consist of a boom, a dipper stick pivoted at the end of the boom, a dipper attached to the lower end of the dipper stick. The various mechanisms may be operated by a proper drum lagging and a mast or A-Frame at or near the boom hinges to provide proper hoist cable beds or by hydraulic cylinders. 2 - See 5068.
